Just realize as I am starting to catch up on blogging since I got called off from work today, that I never took any pictures of my boys on the actual day of Halloween! What a bummer! Dylan was Winnie the Pooh and Caleb with Tigger. They were so cute, but now I remember that I was really sick when I got home from work and Bryan took Dylan trick or treating and I spent the night in bed. Glad Dylan had fun and was able to spend time with Bryan and his cousins. These pictures were taken at an outing to a pumpkin patch.

Dylan was so excited for Caleb to finally be able to get in the bath with him, he has been asking ever since Caleb was born. Caleb liked it pretty well, but I should have fed him before because he was hungry and did not last long. Not too long after he was in the tub he fell asleep, he is a pretty talented sleeper!

Thursday Oct. 6th at my OB appt I practically begged Dr. Sharp to get this baby out of me! He scheduled me for an induction Sat Oct 8th at 7:30 am and told me to call at 6:30 to make sure they had a room for me. I was so excited that rather than going to work Sat morning I was going to have my precious baby boy and have this pregnancy come to an end. This pregnancy was worse than my first by far! I had a lot of back/pelvic pain, low energy, and raging hormones that caused a lot of anxiety which I am not accustomed to. Work had become very difficult! Anyways, the night before my induction I could not sleep very well due to nerves and was wide awake at 4:30 am. When I called at 6:30 the lady matter of factly told me to call back at 9:00 because they did not have a room for me. I began to cry and was disappointed. At 9:00 I called and they told me to be in at 10:00. I was very relieved and excited! Dylan had spent the night at my mom's house so we were able to just grab our bags and drive to the hospital. When we got there the nurse took my history and started my IV. I was grateful that she got it the first time, unlike the 7 attempts it took when Dylan was born. My blood pressure was high when I got there and I just thought it was nerves. My blood pressure stayed high my entire hospital stay up until the last time they checked it before I went home. My dad had taken a bus trip to the University so he kept coming and going. The labor and delivery department was extremely busy and we basically waited around for hours waiting for the doctor to see me and get the medication started. Meanwhile Bryan, my dad, and I played cards and watched TV. I was dilated to a 2 and was 70% effaced upon admission. Finally at 2:00 they started me on Penicillin since I was GBS positive and then they started the Pitocin at 3:00 to start my contractions and labor. I was still feeling and good and we continued to play cards until about 5:00 when Bryan drove my dad to his bus. When he came back around 5:40ish I was starting to hurt. I told the nurse that after the doctor broke by water which was going to be at 6:00 after the second dose of antibiotic that I would want the epidural. She decided to have the anesthesiologist come in then to get my history so we would be ready to go when Dr. Sharp broke my water. When the anesthesiologist came in I learned she was an attending and would only be there for another 50 minutes so I asked if she would do it then because I did not want a resident placing my epidural. As she placed it and afterward my pain increased rather than decrease. I was starting to experience a lot of anxiety and beginning to panic when the chief resident came in and checked me. I was dilated to a 6 and 100% effaced and 0 station. The Dr. said he would be back in an hour to recheck me. The anesthesiologist then told me that my only option for pain relief was to take out the epidural and start over. It had not been 5 min since the Dr. had checked me that I began to feel extreme pressure and the need to push. I told the anesthesiologist that there was no time to replace the epidural. The nurse then checked and said I was fully dilated and at +2 station. She immediately called Dr. Sharp in. He did not even have time to put on a gown. I pushed for maybe 3 minutes and little Caleb was born at 7:07 p.m. All the sudden I had this little one on my chest and was in shock because of how fast everything had just happened. Bryan was wonderful and helped me stay calm and coached me as I pushed. He was able to cut the cord this time which he didn't do with Dylan since the Dr. did it too fast. Overall it was a good experience and I am glad I chose an induction since it allowed us to have care arranged for Dylan while we were at the hospital. Caleb was very alert and calm when he came out and other than the second night at the hospital when he was having issues with throwing up he has remained that way. He has had a couple nights where he has slept 6 hours straight, but usually it is about every 4 hours. He is a beautiful baby and I am grateful for be his mother. The pregnancy was definitely worth the trouble to now have this precious child in my home. I absolutely love my husband and two boys and look forward to the rest of our lives and the opportunity I have been given to be their wife and mother!

Getting ready for baby # 2, Caleb Dalton Beall

Today I am 12 days away from my due date to deliver this little precious boy! It has been fun getting his room all ready. I am very ready to welcome this little one into our family. His room is all ready and stocked with his clothes organized from 0-3 months, 3-6 months, all the way to 12 months. I have my bag packed, his diaper bag packed with cute outfits for the hospital and all the essentials, and his carseat all ready to go. I am scheduled to work 5 more shifts before my due date and it is a struggle to get through each shift at this point. I have a doctors appointment tomorrow so we will see what he says. I am excited to meet and hold little Caleb! Probably the next time I post will be pictures of him. Any guesses on what he will look like?

I made this carseat cover to help keep Caleb protected from the elements this winter. I already had the fabric for a quilt I was going to make for Dylan before he was born and never did, so it was cheap and easy. I think it turned out pretty great and is definitely original.

Dylan's First Day of Preschool

Dylan started preschool the beginning of September and has absolutely loved it! He goes to CountryLoft Preschool in Lehi Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9 to 11:30. He has done really well and is always happy when I drop him off and pick him up. His teacher's name is Ms. Jaci and is very nice. He has already learned a lot and comes home singing a new song almost everyday. The other day while eating dinner Dylan recited the Pledge of Allegiance. I was amazed! He is a little memorizer and is very smart!

Oktoberfest in Snowbird

We had a very enjoyable, relaxing day up at Snowbird one weekend. It was a good trip and nice to spend time as a family. Dylan loved the alpine slide with his daddy, and loved playing in the bounce houses as well.

He sat really still to get his face painted, but sure doesn't look too happy in this picture. But as you can see in the next two he liked his face paint and was roaring at everyone because he was a "scary monster."

We rode the tram up the mountain and enjoyed with cool weather while listening to a small band play the french horns. It wasn't what Bryan expected because I had told him there was a band playing at the top. He had anticipated something quite a bit different, but it was enjoyable all the same. It was beautiful up there and a nice getaway!

We have been reading Dr. Seuss a lot lately and Dylan loves the book Green Eggs and Ham so one morning for breakfast here was my attempt at making them. Dylan loved it and ate all of them!

A while ago my friend Kristina and I took our kids to This is the Place in Salt Lake. The kids had fun playing in the houses, petting the goats/pigs, and riding the ponies. I wish I would have planned it better, cause we weren't able to stay very long and missed out on a lot more activities.

My mom and I went to Gardner Village and Dylan enjoyed watching and chasing the geese.

This picture was taken at Dylan's cousin Katelyn's birthday party at Utah Lake. I think little kids like frosting! This is Dylan with his two cousins Carson and Carter. They are very close in age and always enjoy spending time with eachother.

Bryan turned 32 on July 29th. We didn't do anything big this year to celebrate, but I did make him Lemon Bars for his cake, which he loves. I sure love my husband! He is the best!

Playing Catch-up/Summer Fun

These pictures are a few months old. One day I put up the slip and slide in the front yard and let the boys play. They had a good time trying to figure out how it worked, but mostly just played in the water. The little boy with Dylan is Christian. I started watching him in April and watch him every Monday and Wednesday and his mom, Jade, the next door neighbor watches Dylan Tuesday and Thursday. It has ended up working out really great. We are both able to work and know that our children are safe and taken care of. The best part is we don't have to pay for daycare and Dylan gets better care than if he were in daycare.

Megan's Wedding/Dylan's 3rd Birthday

July 1st my beautiful sister-in-law Megan married Bo Waters in the Salt Lake Temple. It was a beautiful day which began with the temple ceremony, pictures, then a luncheon, then a great reception! Megan looked gorgeous and was definitely the most beautiful bride at the temple that day!

Dylan's birthday was also July 1st, although we mostly celebrated it a week later after the wedding hustle and bustle was over. Bryan's sister Alissa and her husband Jesse gave us their fish tank after they upgraded to a bigger tank. I took Dylan and we went with a pirate theme and bought some tropical fish. You can only add the fish 3 or so at a time in order to have better luck at having a healthy tank and fish. We started with 2 fancy guppies and a platy. This week we are going to add some electric fish and a snail. Dylan is obsessed with the fish tank and watches them all the time!

Dylan's Aunt Crystal gave Dylan this awesome Lightning Mcqueen camping chair. He loves it and it has now moved into my bedroom where he watches his movies in it. He loves it, especially since it has a cup holder.

We found out that we are having another boy. Dylan is very excited and says cute things about his baby brother. He loves to look at the ultrasound pictures and watch the ultrasound movie. In nursery a week ago the teacher said that they were singing a song about hearts and Dylan said, "my baby brother has a heartbeat." Dylan also says, "baby Caleb in there? pointing to my belly, and then, can he come out? he can walk? I want to play with him." It is pretty cute. Dylan is learning how to be a good big brother by practicing with our neighbor boy that we watch twice a week. He loves Christian and cries when he leaves and always wonders where he is when he is not at our house. I love being a mom to little Dylan and I am excited to meet our new little boy!

These pictures are taken at the Saratoga Springs Marina on the shores of Utah Lake. Dylan had fun watching the fishermen and throwing rocks into the water.

What I have been doing in my spare time...

I have found a love for working in my yard. It has been fun this year to do some new things with my yard and garden. My favorite yard project was my window box that I bought at Rod Works and then planted myself and with help from my dad hung it from my side patio fence. Bryan and I even found out that we could fix our own sprinklers. In all my digging and planting I had accidentally broken a lot of the pieces to our drip system in the flower beds. In addition to those problems there were many of our sprinkler heads that were either not working or not working very well. We were pretty proud of ourselves for figuring out how to fix them and then fix them. It is fun and very therapeutic to work out in the yard and even more fun to enjoy it once the work is done.

This was the only spot I could think of to plant any vegetables. The ground is not very good, but I thought I would start this year with some Zucchini plants and if they grow successfully I will expand next year.

Happy 60th Birthday Dad!

Today is my dad's 60th birthday! After looking through hundreds of pictures on my computer, I only found these four of him. Apparently I need to be taking more pictures of him, because as he has been telling me often lately he is not going to be around much longer. For awhile he was telling me I needed to check on him daily to make sure he was still alive. This is funny because my dad is one of the youngest 60 year olds I know! I love that he moved closer to me and my family last year and that we have been able to spend more time together and get to know each other better without the stress of living "under his roof." My dad is a great father and his children and grandchildren are blessed to have him around. Hope you have a great birthday dad, and enjoy the "Seafood Fest" we have planned for you tonight! A new room and big boy bed for a new big brother!

Dylan is now sleeping in the room down the hall since he has a baby brother or baby sister moving into his old room and crib on October 10th. He has been doing great in his new bed and he is excited to be a big brother. He will kiss my belly and say, I love you baby." I am very excited to be having another child and also to be out of my first trimester. I am now 14 weeks along and hoping to get some energy back in time for our trip to Florida. In about a week we are heading out to Florida and planning on visiting Disney World, the Beach, a boat ride on the ocean, and a wedding. I will be sure to post about our vacation and soon after if we will be having a boy or girl!!

Ready for Spring!

Wow, I cannot believe I have not posted since before Christmas and it is now March. We really enjoyed our Christmas because this year both Bryan and I had extra time off work and were actually able to spend some quality time together and with our families. The new year has come and gone and we are now looking forward to warmer weather. I have really been slacking on picture taking the last couple of months but I will be posting a few soon. Dylan is getting so big and smart lately. He is talking a lot and wanting to do his ABC's (He calls them A C's). For some reason the letters he has learned and remembers are I, O, and W. He likes to sing a non-sensical version of the ABC song to make everybody laugh, but I have heard the real version come out of his mouth a time or two. He can count from 1-14 and does not like to do it on demand, just when he is in the mood. We recently moved him to a different room down the hall and got him a twin size bed (thanks to Melanie for the mattress). He likes his room and is sleeping well in his big boy bed, but I find him often playing in the crib in the other room. The last couple of days he has also transitioned to big boy underwear and is doing really great! I am so proud of my little boy and it is kind of sad to see him grow up, but I am excited to see the person he becomes. He is a lover and loves to give hugs and kisses and he says "I love you so much." It is so cute and just melts my heart. He loves watching TV and movies, particularly Despicable Me, Toy Story 1, 2, & 3, and Mickey Mouse. He likes to help me in the kitchen and I let him up on the counter with me while I measure the ingredients and he pours them in the bowl and helps me mix. Dylan loves his daddy and gets excited when he gets home. Speaking of Bryan, he is amazing. I just love him more and more each day. He is such a loving and supportive father and husband. He works so hard at work, school, his calling, and at home. He has been particularly more helpful at home lately and I really appreciate his efforts. I am done with all of my classes for my Bachelors degree finally. I finished my last class a couple of weeks ago and am now studying for a CLEP test on Substance Abuse. If I pass this test, I will have my Bachelors in Nursing Degree. I am so excited and ready to have my degree. I will post again soon with some other news and pictures....

Dylan was a firefighter this year! It was fun this year, because Dylan understood Halloween a little better. We went to our ward's trunk or treat and Dylan enjoyed having candy handed to him over and over again. It was cute to see him interact with our backdoor neighbor who is his friend Zane at the end of the trunk or treat. They just jabbered back and forth to each other and were so excited! I also took Dylan around to some of the neighbor's and he would knock on the door and say trick or treat! So cute and fun to watch my little boy grow up and learn of the fun American traditions. We are looking forward to Christmas!

One of my best friends recently was married and it was so fun to be able to attend the wedding ceremony at the Timpanogas Temple, especially because it was in the same sealing room that Bryan and I were married in! She looked beautiful and she was so happy! It is great to see two people so in love and excited for the future. Krystal has been such a good friend to me and I am so happy for her!

My new found joy of Canning!

These year I decided to expand my homemaking skills to include canning. I canned 23 jars of peaches and we have already loved them. Dylan will eat peaches every meal of the day if I serve them, he loves them! Also, I have the best recipe for peach cobbler in the world, and my canned peaches are perfect for cobbler! I only wish I had canned more cause we have already used up quite a few jars.

My other canning experience was with apple butter. MMM, yummy. And what is even better is that I made it with my crockpot, which I love! So easy, so good, and they will make great Christmas gifts with a fresh homemade loaf of bread.

My canning started with a new found dedication to food storage and emergency preparedness. I now have a well stocked pantry, fridge, and freezer with lots more in my storage room in the basement. My next two projects are organizing my storage room in the basement and finding a system for all of my recipes. If anyone has any good recipe systems they have, please share!

Ode to Dawson...

I got Dawson when he was 5 weeks old in October of 2004. I had just moved in with my brother Scott and I really just wanted to be married and starting a family. Well, seeing I was not dating anyone of any significance I decided to get a dog. Dawson was a great companion for me at that time in my life and I enjoyed having him. Looking back, I realize I was not a good dog owner and a pretty bad dog trainer. I bought Dawson for $600, but that was only the beginning of a small fortune he cost me. When I moved out of living with Scott, I had to replace the carpet in the room I had stayed in because little did I know Dawson had been peeing under the bed and had ruined the carpet. He also chewed up baseboards and portions of the carpet in other room which later on when I bought the condo for Scott, I repaired. I will admit this now just to demonstrate how bad of a dog owner I was. When Dylan was born I was so lazy that I allowed Dawson to pee on our outside patio that first winter which led me to needing to replace the outside carpet. I was too embarrassed to hire someone else to rip up the carpet for me and replace it, so I did it myself. What a job, that was disgusting. I had to rip up the carpet and then scrape of the glue and then paint a couple coats of Primer to get rid of the smell before I could hire someone to lay down fresh, new carpet. When we lived in Virginia we ended up having to throw away a queen size bed because of the damage Dawson had done to it. All said and done, I loved Dawson like crazy and he was a member of my family. Due to his poor potty training, I could never let him loose in the house while we were gone so he would live in the laundry room while we were away at work. After moving into our new house that does not have a fenced in backyard, and me being gone for 15 hours on days I work, I felt so bad for the dog that I decided it was time to move him on to a new, better home that could give him more attention and love than we could. Also, Bryan had told me that we could not replace our carpet until Dawson was dead. I could not bear living with the current carpet we have until probably a good 8 years or so, which prompted my decision as well. I posted an ad on KSL thinking that I would see if we got any interest, but did not truly think anything would happen. Little did I know, Dawson was gone 4 hours later. I cried for 2 days straight and felt like a terrible person, but over time I had realized that it was the best decision to make for Dawson, me and my family. I have spoken to the lady who took Dawson and she is in love with him and told me that he has literally changed her life. She is a single lady who was quite lonely before Dawson. She carries him everywhere she goes in a purse, is getting him trained to be a therapeutic dog, and is always home with him. When I am driving home from a long day at work I am so grateful that Dawson is being cared for by this new lady in her home, rather than spending the day in our laundry room. I love dogs, but it will be a long time before I have another dog, and if I ever do I will get him or her professionally trained for sure. I will always miss Dawson, but am grateful to feel contented with where he is now.

This summer Dylan enjoyed playing in the water, be it be at Grandma and Grandpa's pool, the local swimming pool, or just outside playing in the hose.

Dylan's cousin Katelyn spent the day with us and I took them in my bike trailer to the park and out to lunch at the community center, then they enjoyed time playing with the hose before it was time for a nap (for the kids and myself, to any of you who do not know, I love nap time! I could sure use the time to work on school work, but there is nothing better than a nap in thmiddle of the day!

Dylan turned 2 on July 1st, 2010. We had a birthday party for him at our house with our family. It was a ball-themed party!. What's new with Dylan

A couple mornings ago Bryan and I were in our bedroom and Dylan had been playing in his room. It had been quiet for a minute so we went to check on him and we found him in his crib. He had somehow managed to climb up into his crib, so we figured it was time for a toddler bed so he would not hurt himself climbing out of his crib. So far he likes it pretty well, but this morning I found him sleeping on the floor next to the pillow I had placed next to his bed. I have heard they have small guard rails to put on the mattress, so I am going to get one of those so he does not keep rolling off the bed in his sleep.

We have been enjoying the lovely weather and doing a lot of swimming and playing outside lately. I need to start taking some pictures, then I will have some more things to post about. I am pretty proud of my flower gardens and will post some pictures soon!

Thankful!

I am thankful for this past Easter weekend and the remembrance of the Savior and his resurrection. How comforting it is to know that Christ lives and that He loves each and every one of us. There is a plan and reason for this life and I am so grateful to have this knowledge and be able to teach it to my children. I am so blessed to be a mother and have such a wonderful little boy to raise and I know I have so far to go to reach my potential and to create the home that my Savior would want me to have. I am grateful for General Conference and the teachings that were given by such inspired men and women. I love my family so much and am grateful for the multitudes of blessings that have been poured out upon my family. As I work at the hospital and see the trauma and turmoil that people go through I wonder why I have it so easy. Bryan helps remind me that we will have our trials too and that we should just enjoy the good times while helping others through their hard times. My husband is such a good example to me of how to treat others. He is so kind and genuine to everyone. I love him so much and cherish the times we get to spend with each other. Time flies so fast that I need to remember to just enjoy every minute of it.

The Friday before Easter Bryan's work did a egg hunt for the kids and the Easter bunny even showed up. Just like Santa though, Dylan did not like the Easter bunny. In fact he didn't even like any of it except for the ride home when he was able to chow down on all of his candy!

What a great Easter Sunday we had. We started it off having my parents and my brother Darrin and his family over for breakfast and Conference. The later that night everyone came back over for dinner, easter egg hunt, and dessert. My brother Scott and his family came as well. Here are some pictures from the Easter egg hunt.

Since we have moved to Lehi we are 5 minutes away from Dylan's cousin Carter and they are becoming good friends (when they are not fighting over toys) On a side note, my parents just moved all of their stuff into their new home in Lehi this past weekend. They still have to stay in Price till the end of the school year, but we are so excited to have them close!

We are now all moved in to our new home! Thank you to everyone who helped us out yesterday! We could not have done it without you. Especially thank you to Darrin for helping us all day long with loading, unloading, setting up beds, washer and dryer, driving the big truck so I did not have too as much. Sorry you cut your knee. Thank you Emily for lunch and for your help with the kids and unloading and unpacking, you are awesome!! Thank you to Kara for coming early and loading the truck and taking a load to our new home (including our fish in a sippy cup, haha). Thank you to Mike for helping us with all the heavy stuff and for coming to both homes to help. Thank you to Holli, Larry, and mom for helping unpack and set up the crib and washer/dryer, etc. I fell asleep to Melanie organizing the mess in my kitchen and woke up to a spotless kitchen, living room, with everything organized to a T. Thank everyone so much!!

Moving Day Pushed Up

We are moving everything up! We are now closing on our new home in Lehi this Friday and will be able to start moving in probably on Monday. We are going to officially move on Friday the 12th, just 8 days away. We are then closing on our condo on the 17th. I am feeling very excited, and Bryan is feeling close to being very broke. This weekend I am focusing on packing up, cleaning, work, and homework. Next week I will focus on getting the Lehi home all ready to move into. i.e. clean carpets, paint, clean, set up utilities, laundry, etc. I am going to need some serious Dr. Pepper!!

Dylan acheivements at almost 20 months!

I was looking back at all my recent posts and they are all about selling our condo, buying a new house, and moving. I have left out the most important person from my posts recently and that is Dylan Ace. What a charming, yet feisty little boy! Here are some of his latest accomplishments:
-Talking better, repeating what we say such as, "bull crap, oh wow, no no, who hoo, hello, hi, bye bye, bat-e-ball (for basketball), meow, ruff, ruff, carter, dada, mama, grandma, and papa."
-Climbs on anything possible
-He has perfected his tantrum throwing
-Loves to play in the bathtub for almost an hour at a time.
-Likes to cuddle with mom or dad to go to sleep
-Loves walking up and down stairs (he refuses to go down backwards anymore)
-Loves to give hugs and kisses, will kiss all his characters in his books as well
-Loves to wave to people in church during sacrament meeting
-Stayed in nursery without mom for the first time
-When he sees a train he will say, "choo, choo"
-Gets up on the counter and waves at his fishy while saying, "hi fishy"
-Likes to feed the dog and fish twice a day
-Loves sesame street, barney (don't mention this to Bryan), oso, mickey mouse, handy manny, and baby einsteins.
-His newest thing is when he is walking in between Bryan and I holding our hands we count 1, 2, 3 and then raise him in the air. He now will say, 2, 2, 2 and wait for us to raise him in the air. He loves counting, but thinks every number is pronounced "2."
-Dylan is a happy child and loves being around other kids because they make him laugh!

Here is what we got packed today.

This post is for all of you out there thinking how awful I am to buy a house without my husband seeing it first. When I first saw the house I just had that gut feeling and knew it was the house we were supposed to buy. I offered to Bryan to wait until he was able to go see it, but told him we would probably lose the house to another person's offer. His response was, "I don't have time, just get it." So by all means I went for it and we made an offer. Come to find out as soon as the sellers had signed our offer they received another offer. Had we waited we would have lost this amazing house. Bryan and I went to see the house on his day off and he likes it just as much as I do which was a relief. I am hoping to be able to take pictures tomorrow after the house inspection and will post them for you all to see.

Well, our offer was accepted and we are buying a house! Bryan is so amazing and trusting. He has not even seen the house we are buying, but is on board. He has tomorrow off so we are going to go and see the house, and I am sure he will love the house as much as I do. The last week and a half have been very eventful. We listed our house, are now under contract to sell it and close March 26th, and are also under contract to move into our new home and close on March 15th. The next month should be interesting, stressful, exciting, and very busy!

Well, I was a little too eager. Both of the houses we were going to offer on we found out are very close to closing already, so we are going to hold off. We are just going to keep looking and are hopeful that we will find a good one. We are just happy to have a solid offer on our condo!

We received a full price off on our condo today and they want to close on March 26th! We couldn't be any happier! We listed our house a week ago today and are now under contract! What a blessing! Bryan had the day off today so he was able to go house hunting with me and our agent. We found two gorgeous homes that we love and are going to put in offers tonight. They are both short sales that already have offers on them, but we are going to give it a shot. Here are a few pictures of our top choice. It is up on Traverse Mountain with outstanding views from all three (finished) levels of the home. It has a walkout basement and awesome deck on the main floor.

I got a phone call from my agent today and a girl that looked at my condo yesterday wants to bring her mom through on Sunday and then will most likely be making an offer!! I am so excited! Hopefully it will all work out and we will be officially on a new home search.

Monday, my agent took me to Thanksgiving Meadows and we checked out options to build a home. I loved them, but am worried that I would want too many upgrades and not be able to afford them. Today, my agent took be on the east side of I-15 to look at pre-existing homes. My husband had said that I would not like them because I just want a new home. Well, come to find out, he was wrong. I loved every house I looked at. My poor agent doesn't know what she got herself into by volunteering to help us. I am so glad she did though, because she is awesome and fun to be with. It is nice to drive back and forth to Lehi with a classy, fun lady who is patient and set on finding us a good home. Before today I thought that I would be putting money down on buying/building a new home, but now I can't after what I saw today. The homes were only a couple years old and looked brand new and had all the upgrades done already for cheaper that it would be for me to build a home and have only a few upgrades. Also the neighborhood is on a hill and has incredible views of Utah County! A new elementary school is almost completed too that maybe my mom will work at, who knows? First things first though, we need to sell our condo. It is now listed and on the market. We need a miracle though in this market. Please pray for us to sell our condo and find a great home in a safe neighborhood to raise Dylan and his siblings to come.

Ok, so maybe Dylan didn't drive us there, but today the family drove down to Lehi to explore housing options for us. Why Lehi you ask? Close to family, good neighborhoods, good schools, out of the Salt Lake Valley pollution, more home for the money, longer commute but worth it, Thanksgiving point, shopping, restaurants. My parents just bought a home in Lehi, my brother Darrin lives in Lehi, and my brother Scott lives nearby in Draper. In-laws live in Sandy which is not too far away either.

Mcathur homes being built 3 minutes off the freeway and close to Thanksgiving Point.

This is one of many styles to choose from. Homes are currently being built so we could help customize one the way we want to. I am excited to go through the model home on Monday with my agent and discuss options. At the base price, these homes are affordable to us, but that doesn't include air conditioning, upgrades, etc. So we will just have to wait and see if this is something we can truly afford.

We also drove around to look at pre-existing homes and found a few that we like that I hope to go through on Monday as well. Wish us luck on selling our Condo fast and getting into a great home that we can raise our family in!

We just got home from a fun little trip with two other couples. We had a ton of fun and here are a few pictures to spotlight the weekend starting off with Dylan's favorite part of the trip. This was our balcony this morning and he loved romping in, rolling in, and eating the snow.

On Saturday we went snowboarding and the first picture is of our friend Danny after he crashed and landed on the fence. So funny!!

Preparing for Valentines!

I have never made successful sugar cookies and I wanted to make good ones for Valentines, so I started practicing early thinking that it would take me awhile to find just the right recipe. I was surprised when the first recipe I found turned out just right. They were fairly easy, soft, and tasty. I have recently became a food blog junky and now for the first time ever my husband calls me a 'good cook'. I guess when you start off with tried and trued recipes from other successful cooks anything can happen. My sweet husband had these flowers delivered to me at home randomly last week! I do not give him the credit he deserves, so this is why I love him so much! He works so hard at his job to provide for us. I complain a lot that he works too much, but if he didn't he wouldn't be as successful and probably wouldn't have gotten the steady raises he has had even in a declining market. He is smart and so far has a 4.0 in his Master's program. He is a wonderful dad. He spends his every Saturday with Dylan while I work. My mom is constantly telling me that not many guys would do that and never complain. Dylan is constantly yelling "da da, da da" and will go and knock on the office door at our house hoping that his dad is there. Besides the word no, dada is the word most commonly spoken by Dylan. Bryan tickles my back almost every night before I go to sleep because he knows how much I love it and it helps me get to sleep. Bryan loves my parents and family just as much as I do and that means a lot. He is always sincere and kind to everyone and that is an attribute that is hard to find. I sure do not have it. Bryan has a great sense of humor and loves to make people laugh. Bryan married me in the temple and honors his Priesthood. I love knowing that our family is Eternal and that I will always have this man to brighten my day and light up my world. Thanks Bryan for all that you do for me and our little boy! I love you so much and wish I were better at telling you these things on a daily basis. I love you!

I have been thinking a lot lately about being a mother. Before becoming a mother I was so cocky and thought that I would be the best mother, that it would be easy and that all other mothers make it out to be too hard. Boy, have I had a reality check lately. It is actually by far the hardest thing I have ever done. The feeling of responsibility alone is one of the hardest things for me. Some days I do not feel worthy of such a calling and do not feel like I am doing a good enough job. Having to leave him while I go to work and trying to entertain him somehow while I do homework makes me feel guilty. I just have to remind myself that I am doing these things for him so we can be financially stable and provide a good home, neighborhood, and the things in life that he will want and benefit from. In another thought, I always thought I was a patient person. That was one of the big qualities that has helped me be a good nurse. I have all the patience in the world at work and everyone tells me that, but I have had the hardest time lately being patient at home. Why is this? Isn't the most important to be loving and patient to your own family at home? I think that it is the feeling of responsibility for me that make me lose patience. I want so much for Dylan to be a good, smart kid and do what he is told and eat good food and have good sleeping habits. When Dylan does not do these things I feel I am not doing a good job and I get frustrated and then impatient. So how I can I fix this? I have many ideas and ways that I think I could help myself and my family, but I would really like some input from my blogging pals out there. Sometimes outsiders looking in can give different perspectives and insights to things, so I am requesting some great ideas and look forward to reading them. Thanks in advance!

We finally had some professional pictures taken. We dressed up and met my friend Kristina at the State Capitol. After the pictures we were unsure if any would be good because Dylan was totally naughty the whole time. I was pleasantly surprised today to see that they turned out great! I was able to order my Christmas cards which is a relief for me. Look forward to getting some of these cute pictures in the mail!

Who Knew?

Is it normal for a 16 month old baby to do somersaults? Dylan just started doing these today. I don't know how he learned it! Maybe my boy will be a gymnast. He also likes to dance. When I watch my show, "So You Think You Can Dance" Dylan starts tapping his toes and twirling around. It is fun to see him grow and his personality develop. He is so happy most of the time and loves to talk gibberish.

I had to plan and host the Trunk or Treat and Chili Cook-off at our ward this year. Dylan dressed up as an airforce guy in honor of Bryan's four years of service. He looked pretty official and very cute as well. He enjoyed the suckers and candy we let him have and he loved running around with his other one year old friends in our ward. After the trunk or treat Dylan was put to bed and Bryan and I were able to have a movie night and we watched The Sixth Sense and ate a lot of candy!! It was a fun night. We look forward to next Halloween when we can take Dylan Trick or Treating and hopefully I won't have to plan the ward activity!

I have made a couple friends from my ward and we all have babies that were born in July, 2008. We took them to this fun, indoor playground with blow up toys today in Sandy. Both boys absolutely loved it and we exhausted from running, bouncing, sliding, and playing. The girl, Savanna was scared to death and cried her eyes out when we tried to take her on the slide. Eventually she warmed up and was able to touch the outside of the toys without crying, not a huge step, but her mom was hopeful. On a side note, there was a grand opening of Kohl's by my house, which could potentially be a very bad thing for me.

Dylan is now 14 1/2 months old! Here is an update of what he is up to:
Likes to play with blocks and wreck towers that his mom makes.
Says "eh eh eh eh" whenever he wants something. It is really annoying and we are trying to teach him to say "please"
Runs to the front door when I ask Dawson, the dog if he wants to go for a walk. Dylan loves to walk the dog.
Has a very little attention span, although he will now watch a whole episode of Mickey Mouse Club while he eats breakfast and I get ready in the morning.
Says dada, mama, dawson, cheese and a lot of other words in his own little language.
He is pretty sure he is carrying on a normal conversation by looking you in the eye and saying a version of dowaduwadowa.
Runs around everywhere, and is starting to climb on everything. Handles stairs like a pro.
Still does not like his carseat very well.
Loves pulling the dogs hair and making him squeal.
Falls to sleep in his mom's arms after laughing and telling me all about his day.
Sleeps 12 hours straight through the night most of the time.
Has 11 teeth
Loves the park and going down the slides.
Is a true boy and tries to eat the rocks, bark, dirt, dog food and anything he is not supposed to eat.

Today we took Dylan on the Heber Valley Railroad Scenic Route up Provo Canyon. We now know why they call it the "Heber Creeper." I don't think that we went faster than 15 mph the whole time, but it was fun. Dylan especially liked holding his head out the window. I wish I would have had someone take a picture of it, cause it was so dang cute!!

So Dylan took his first five steps in from of Bryan and I on Sunday morning. He has been cruising around for a long time now, but just never had gotten the courage to let go until now. When I picked up Dylan from grandma's last night he was full fledged walking around. It is so fun to watch him walk and even better to see how proud he is of himself as he does it. My little boy is growing up and is such a joy in my life. These videos are the best I could get. I took many and he kept getting preoccupied with something and would stop walking. Hope you enjoy!!

We went to Midway this weekend. It was a nice, last getaway before I start school tomorrow. We went up to Sundance and took the ski lift up to the top and hiked around. CHICKEN POX "A bad ending to a good vacation!"

Our last two day in San Diego Dylan was really fussy, and then Friday night he spiked a fever of 102.8. He hadn't been eating well or sleeping well and he developed a rash. His cousin Aubrey who went home on Wednesday was diagnosed with the swine flu, so I was worried. We took him to the ER at 3:00 am and he was negative for the flu, thank goodness. The Dr. just said it was a acute viral infection. Well he didn't get better and his rash got worse. I then put two and two together and realized that it was the chicken pox. Poor little guy, he has been miserable. A good vacation, bad ending!!

This was at the seal beach. There were tons of squirrels just trying to get fed.

There was a lot of controversy in the news about this beach, because it used to be a kids beach, but now the seals have taken over. Some want to force the seals out and continue to have it a kids beach and others want to leave them be. Personally, I think they should let the seals have the spot, why do we humans have to take over everything?

Fun at the Beach

We spent this last week in La Jolla, California with my entire family! It was the first vacation that everyone was able to go on since we all lived at home together, which was a long time ago! We rented two beach homes and had 24 people, with 12 of those being children! My favorite day was when the guys went golfing and then the girls went and had pedicures and then went and made jewelry at the bead shop. Finishing off the day was swimming in the ocean. It was about 5:00 at night and it was high tide with huge waves. I just about died in two different waves. They pulled me under, dragged me and rolled me across the sand. The next day in the ocean was much better, the waves were a little calmer. I don't think I will try body surfing during high tide again.

I buried Dylan in the sand to keep him under control. It worked for awhile until he figured out how to get out.

I love walking up in the canyons! Everytime I go up there I wonder why I don't do it more often!! In less than 20 minutes we can be out of the hussle and bussle of the city and enjoy the beauty of nature. The air is so much cleaner and fresher up there!

When Dylan is not rushing into Dawson's room to eat the dog food he is rushing in to play in his bed and with his toys.

Dylan likes to play under the sink. One day he decided he was strong enough to pick up the sugar canister and spill it all over the floor. My little one is so much fun, but you can't take your eyes off him for one minute or he is into something he shouldn't be. I won't tell you about all the close calls or you will turn me in as a bad mother or something.

Bryan took me to this spot on our 4th date. It was fun to go again almost 4 years later and reminisce on all that has happened since that date. We dated long distance for a year, then got married. We lived in Virginia for a year and enjoyed life on the East Coast. Now we have lived in Salt Lake for almost two years and have had a beautiful baby boy! I look forward to going to this spot in 10 or 20 years and reminiscing on all that has happened. Who knows, maybe I will get the 6 kids I want!

This is my sexy husband. Last week he kept telling me that he was going to bring me home something and emphasized that it was just something small. When I came home from work last Saturday this beautiful computer was waiting for me. What a nice guy!! I am going to be starting school to get my bachelors degree in nursing next month. I will be going to the University of Pheonix. It will be nice because it is mostly all online and I can just do it from home. Thanks Bryan for all you do for me. I love you!

Utah Gymnastics!

Dylan had a great time at the gymnastics meet, can't you tell? My husband went to a concert with his family that I did not want to go to, so Kara and her girls went with me to the Utah gymnastic meet. It was a lot of fun. Kara even stood out my sunroof and danced.

Well, Callee had a little girl named Kamdyn, so we got all of our babies in the same room. It is so fun to have friends with babies the same age. It will be even better when we can go places without bottles and dirty diapers.

8 MONTHS OLD!!

Well, today Dylan is 8 months old. Where does the time go? He has almost tripled his birth weight and is doing new things everyday. Here is a rundown of the new things he is doing... Rolling all over the place, getting him self up on his hands and knees and rocking back and forth, saying "mama mama mama", clapping his hands, knows how to get his way, pulls him self up on the crib rail (which gratefully we found out before it was too late and now have adjusted the height of the railing), loves any type of cords (I need tips on baby proofing the house), loves to pull our dog Dawson's hair and make him yelp, and he loves when daddy comes home!!

Raquel, Lindsay, Cassidy, and I got together for lunch in American Fork at Paradise Bakery. It was so nice to get together with friends I don't see enough. Paradise Bakery always brings back memories for me of being pregnant. Every night after work I would stop and get their tomato soup and almost everyday that I didn't work I would stop and get the tomato soup. I think it was the only real craving I experienced while being pregnant. Atleast it was somewhat healthy, right?

My mom was so wonderful and came up to stay the weekend with Dylan while Bryan and I took a trip to Park City. To my surprise I now love to snowboard and can go down the entire mountain with only falling like one time! Thanks mom for letting us have some time as husband and wife again.

I took Garrett, Clay, and Aubrey ice skating. They had a fun time, I was just bummed cause I couldn't skate with them. I don't think it would have been a good idea to skate while holding a baby.

I should send this into Coke. Don't you think it would be a good advertisement?

I can't believe how fast my little boy is growing up. He can now sit up all on his own and roll over. He now has two bottom teeth and is sleeping through the night. All those interupted nights are over. Dylan is such a joy in my life and I couldn't be happier. I love the lyrics to this song that starts off my blog page, they really make you want to live life and love it while we are living it.

I recently took care of a patient who in the last 6 months has become a paraplegic , had multiple surgeries, and illnesses. We never know what will happen to us or our family so we must enjoy every minute that we have with them. This is a lesson that I need to learn and really take to heart. With all the heartache in life, there is so much good to see and to be done. My biggest new years resolution is to live like I am dying and to enjoy the people around me and love life whether I am stuck at work, home sick, or out with my husband.

We spent the weekend before Christmas in Arizona with my brother Darrin, his wife Emily and their boy Carter. The last day we were there my sister Kara drove in with her 3 boys.

Gardner Village

What an adorable baby Santa!!

If you haven't been to Gardner Village, you need to go. It is very fun around Christmas time and Halloween because it is all decorated and festive. Bryan and I had an excellent lunch and were able to see Melanie and her kids, and Jenn and her kids.

Last night I was able to watch my friend Callee's boy Easton. We had a ton of fun. He learned how to use my camera and wanted to take pictures all night. Callee watches Dylan once a week and so he loves Easton and is content just watching him.

Here is Dylan in his plaid shirt. He reminds me of Al Borlen from Tool Time, but only smaller and cuter.

Here is my future baseball player, well I hope so anyway. Baseball is so much safer than football. Although everyone tells me he is going to be a football player because he is so strong and big.

Dylan used to enjoy the time in our bed, but now he has moved on to his own crib in his own room. We are all sleeping a little bit better. I can't wait until he sleeps through the night or atleast longer than 4-5 hours at a time.

The week of Thanksgiving I was able to spend a couple days in Price. Dylan had fun playing with his cousins. I was able to go to the movie Twilight and learn how to cook some yummy treats with Melanie. Thanksgiving turned out great, I was supposed to work, but 5:00 in the morning I was surprised by being called off. I was so grateful to be able to spend time with my family, especially my husband and baby. I am so thankful for all that I have in my life. I have been blessed with so much more than any one person deserves.

We decided to be brave and take Dylan to a Jazz game. I was worried how he would handle all of the noise and I didn't want to mess with his bed time that I have been working hard to set. Well, my worries were unnecessary. Right at 8:00 (bedtime) Dylan fell asleep and stayed asleep. I don't know how he slept through all the cheering, buzzers, and music but he was out!
